DISCOVER OUR HISTORY

Southwold Sailing Club was founded in 1949, when a handful of members acquired the current site and worked tirelessly at weekends to transform what was a damp, disused, net pickling shed into a single story clubhouse. This was a major accomplishment for a dedicated band of volunteers as it gave the members a base in which to socialise, prepare for sailing and hold meetings; plus a real sense of belonging. That was 75 years ago. It has been a central part of the local community for decades.
