Cinema @ The Cut - THE TRIAL (PG)

on Wednesday, 31st July 2019
Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
Director Orson Welles, 1962, France, 120 mins, with Orson Welles, Jeanne Moreau, Anthony Perkins, Madeleine Robinson.
For Orson Welles this was 'the most autobiographical film I've ever made'. It's an imaginative adaptation of Franz Kafka's nightmarish novel about Josef K, an everyman figure accused of an unspecified crime. The then long deserted, belle époque Gare d'Orsay provides a suitably atmospheric setting for much of the action and, as one would expect, the black and white cinematography is truly impressive.
Ticket Details: Standard Ticket £6.00, Cinema Members £4.00
