A Talk : Thomas Heatherwick - The Modern Leonardo?

Thomas Heatherwick : These last few years have seen the meteoric rise of this extraordinarily versatile young designer with his acclaimed Olympic cauldron and iconic new London bus. This talk looks at the range of work created by his studio and the problems these projects presented and the wonderfully creative ways in which Heatherwick and his team have responded.

Royal Ballet Live : ROMEO AND JULIET

Live satellite screening. Kenneth MacMillan’s choreography captures the emotions of the young couple as they fall in love, despite the barriers that finally bring about the story’s tragic end. The Royal Ballet brings the colour and action of Renaissance Verona, where a busy market all too quickly bursts into sword fighting, and a family feud leads to tragedy for both the Montagues and Capulets. Music : Sergei Prokofiev.
