The Blythweb Calendar publicises events open to the public which are taking place in the general area of the Blyth Valley in north-east Suffolk and occasionally also in the wider area. These events include those held in support of local and UK charities, organisations, good causes etc., which we are pleased to freely publicise. RSPB Minsmere Wild Woods Forest School Adventurers (7-11 yrs)

Southwold Beach Mission

Organised by: Scripture Union Beach Mission
Venue: Southwold - various venues
Taking place 29th July-2nd August, also 5th-9th August. The Beach Mission is an All-age Christian holiday club with morning, afternoon and evening activities. Events are free and open to all, regardless of faith or belief.
We run groups for children aged between 5-18 yrs as well as activities for parents and toddlers. Age group time starts at 10am at various venues around Southwold Town (see website). All age groups then meet together and we finish with the Beach Special show on the beach (below the Red Lion Pub) which runs from 12-12:30.

“Kidz” Film Fun - Film, Crafts, Games, Art and more!

Make a paper plate seagull, a mouse puppet or a pipe cleaner alligator. Munch on a sweetie tailed mouse, a fruity mouse or a cheesy mouse. Dare you try some edible bird poo? Refreshments available.
Ticket Details: Under 16s £3.00 (Two carers free). Children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult. Other Adults £3 per person.

Tour of Southwold Lighthouse

Southwold Lighthouse provides a waymark for vessels navigating the east coast and guides vessels making for Southwold Harbour. On selected dates tours of Southwold Lighthouse are organised by Southwold Millennium Foundation under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House, take approximately 30 minutes, and are on the hour and half hour. To climb the tower there is a minimum height restriction of 1.1 metres tall.
Ticket Details: Adult £4, Child 16 years and under £3, Family of 2 adults + up to 3 children £12. CASH ONLY PLEASE.

Part of the 2019 Southwold Beach Mission, taking place 29th July-2nd August, also 5th-9th August. Registration from 2pm.
2:30pm KIDS’ RACES - 5 and under Teddy Dash, 6/7yr old and 8/9 yr old 2k run, 10yr + 3k run.
3:15pm ADULT 5K RUN.
4pm PRIZES.
