Picasso, Braque, Matisse and DIY in Art. Artists in the first years of the 20th century re-imagined how a variety of materials could create different kinds of art. Sculpture, drawing and painting all became gloriously mixed up. Fiona FitzGerald will tease out the importance of these experimental approaches for the development of contemporary art. This talk links to the Royal Academy’s Picasso and Paper Exhibition.

Halesworth Walking for Health: New Led Walk at SOUTHWOLD

Halesworth Walking 4 Health, part of OneLife Suffolk, the free healthy lifestyle service for the county are in your area offering free health walks. Our walks are available for those wanting to become more active, meet new people and explore our beautiful county. The health walks are led by trained volunteers and graded from 1 to 5 (1 being suitable for beginners, easy terrain and 5 being more challenging, including stiles and/or a faster pace.) There is no need to book in advance for a health walk, you can just turn up but please arrive 15 minutes ahead of the start time when attending your first walk to register. Todays walk is a new walk. Meet at the Café car park, Old Hall Southwold, Halesworth Road, Reydon for a 3-mile grade 3 walk.

From the same director of Casablanca here is a classic Warner Brothers gangster movie set in New York's crime-ridden Hell's Kitchen. Rocky and Jerry are childhood friends who grow up to follow very different paths - Rocky racketeering and Jerry the priesthood. When they meet again as adults Rocky is adored by the young delinquents that Jerry is trying to save from a life of crime and who also offer Rocky redemption.
