ST MARY’S HALESWORTH - CHURCH TOURS

Part of the Summer Season of Church Tours at St Mary’s, Halesworth, with Ann Wilkinson, Church Historian, exploring mediaeval aspects of the building and unearthing some stories. Tour ends with a coffee at 11am.

OPEN DAY AT STEAMWORKS

The SteamWorks site in Blyth Road lies adjacent to the 1879 Southwold Railway trackbed and close to the site of Southwold Station. Just ten minutes' walk from the town centre, it is where The Southwold Railway Trust volunteers are working on locomotives and rolling stock, with the aim of re-creating the experience of travelling on the 3-foot gauge Southwold Railway (operated 1879-1929).
Come and see how this site is being transformed, the 3-foot gauge steam engine Scaldwell, the Blyth Valley Light Railway (a 7.25 inch railway), and learn more of what the Trust is achieving. Refreshments available. Shop. All Welcome.

Tour of Southwold Lighthouse

Southwold Lighthouse provides a waymark for vessels navigating the east coast and guides vessels making for Southwold Harbour. On selected dates tours of Southwold Lighthouse are organised by Southwold Millennium Foundation under licence from the Corporation of Trinity House, take approximately 30 minutes, and are on the hour and half hour. To climb the tower there is a minimum height restriction of 1.1 metres tall.
Ticket Details: Adult £4, Child 16 years and under £3, Family of 2 adults + up to 3 children £12. CASH ONLY PLEASE.

ALICE HOWELL

Alice Howell is currently in her third year studying for a BMus Vocal Performance (Hons) degree at the University of Chichester. A Halesworth girl, Alice is training as a classical soprano. She will be singing a selection from her classical repertoire including songs and arias in French, German, Italian and English. She will be singing pieces by Mozart, Puccini, Handel and many more. Accompanied by Will Ferguson.
