Cinema @ The Cut - SUMMER WITH MONIKA (PG)

on Wednesday, 6th November 2019
Venue: The Cut Arts Centre, Halesworth IP19 8BY link
Director Ingmar Bergman,1953, Sweden, 97 mins, with Harriet Andersson, Lars Ekborg, Dagmar Ebbesen, Ake Fridell.
Unlike most of Bergman's films this tale of young lovers escaping the city for an idyllic summer among the islands off the Baltic coast is a sensual celebration of life and all the pleasures it has to offer. However no summer lasts for ever and as time passes a cloud of foreboding casts its shadow over the inevitable return to reality. Much loved by the French this movie had a big influence on the young New Wave directors.
Ticket Details: Standard Ticket £6.00.
