their extensive collection, including many items specific to
the airfield. Halesworth Airfield was mainly used as an

feel of what life was like in the 1940s for the servicemen who
stayed there.
During its short four year run of active
service the airfield played host to some of World War II’s
most influential participants.
Towards the end of the war and
afterwards the base took on a rescue and training function

DESCRIPTION:Presented by Packing Shed Theatre. Suitable for ages 12+years.
Running time: 2 hours 15 minutes, including 20 mins interval.
First staged at Flatford Mill, on Essex/Suffolk border, in
2021 to celebrate the 200th anniversary of John Constable's
famous painting.
This highly acclaimed, atmospheric play with
music has been described as East Anglia's very own Les
Misérables, bringing to life the people that populate the
picture; lives defined not by simplicity and virtue, but by
hardship, hope and resilience. Turning the traditional,
bucolic, chocolate box ideal of The Hay Wain on its head,
you'll never look at the landscape in quite the same way
again.
