DESCRIPTION:Performances 27th and 28th August. No interval. Street theatre
and giant puppet company Thingumajig Theatre has created
something special for Thorington this summer.
Five of their
street theatre and giant puppet acts are to be seen together
for the first time. Audiences will meet these interactive
walkabout acts such as their giant dodo birds and an
illuminated barn owl, and see three of their street theatre
puppet plays: Kit and Caboodle, Kismat Walla, and their
stunning Ghost Caribou featuring two 4-metre tall illuminated
caribou puppets. In Ghost Caribou, giant illuminated
creatures, part caribou, part spirit, roam a mystical world
after dark. As they gather a crowd, they clear a space to
perform their other-worldly ceremony. With music, song and
shadow puppets they tell stories of lost homes, impossible
migrations and sees of hope before continuing the journey into
their hauntingly beautiful dream-world of the night.
